–The Cures Acceleration Grant program is to be $500 million for the first year and such sums as may be necessary for subsequent fiscal years.
–Centers of Excellence for Depression are to be created, up to 20 by 2011, and up to 30 by 2016. Up to $5 million is to be awarded to each center, with a coordinating center getting up to $10 million. The Centers are to develop treatment standard, clinical guidelines and protocols, foster communication with other providers, leverage available community resources, and use electronic health records. By September 2015, a recommendation to expand the centers can be made.
–A National Congenital Heart Disease Surveillance System is to be established, to identify, track, and monitor factors in congenital heart disease and measure outcomes.
–$9 million per year is allocated to produce an education campaign to encourage young women’s breast health.
