–A National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey is to be conducted, including a “tooth-level surveillance.” A tooth-level surveillance means a clinical exam where an examiner looks at each dental surface on each tooth in the mouth.
–The Welcome to Medicare Physical conducted within 12 months of obtaining Medicare Part B is now to include personalized prevention plan services. A family history, list of providers and suppliers providing care, body measurements, detection of cognitive impairment, a screening schedule for the next 5 to 10 years, a list of risk factors and conditions, and the furnishing of personalized health advice and a referral to health education or preventive counseling services or programs for improving self-management are now covered.
–Most preventive services under Medicare will now be covered at 100% rather than 80%. Colonoscopies are covered at 100% regardless of the billing codes used.
–Pregnant women on Medicaid must be able to receive tobacco cessation services, both counseling and pharmacotherapy, at zero cost.
