–In the case of a medicare-dependent small rural hospital, payments will not be reduced.
–Hospital performance information will be made public and will be posted on the Hospital Compare Internet website.
–No administrative or judicial review is permitted in the methodology or the determination of the amount of funding available.
–Some risk adjustment factors will be applied to maintain incentives for hospitals to treat patients with severe illnesses or conditions beginning in 2013.
–A report to Congress is required by 2017.
–Beginning in 2015, PHYSICIANS will be penalized for not continuing their certifications. Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements will be reduced to 98.5% in 2015 and 98% in 2016 and subsequent years. They need to maintain their certification through a specialty body of the American Board of Medical Specialties that meets the criteria for such a registry.
–Electronic health records shall include quality measures as well as quantitative measures. The Secretary shall provide timely feedback to eligible professionals on their performance, including claims data to provide reports that measure the resources involved in furnishing care.
